Our Mission

A Global Hub for the Theory, Practice, & Collective Wisdom of Peace Leadership Worldwide

Bridge the gap between peace leadership scholarship and practice

The Collaborative embraces a generative relationship between theoretical perspectives and grounded work in communities. We bring practitioners and scholars together for mutual learning and collaboration. We provide opportunities for peace leaders to learn skills, gain knowledge, and share stories to support what they need to be ready to engage in and lead peace; and offers researchers opportunities to learn from peace leaders in active community leadership about what is working to cultivate and sustain more peaceful communities and systems.

Promote and Advance Peace Leadership Globally

We believe we all have the ability to be peace leaders in the work that we do, in the communities we are engaged in, and in systems large and small. The Peace Leadership Collaborative holds space to explore peace leadership as a way of living that opens possibilities for peace to root and grow within ourselves, our relationships, our community, and our world.

We promote peace leadership through education, training, and development, and provide spaces for organizations and members to share their opportunities and offerings with a wider audience. We document and share stories of peace leadership in action to inspire local and global practice. We advance the field by connecting scholars and practitioners to one another, as well as the lessons and experience that individuals in each group offer, and by leading and supporting participatory action research.

Provide peace scholars and practitioners opportunities for mutual learning & collaboration

The Collaborative is a space of belonging for peace leaders from all identities and contexts to learn about and from peace leadership communities around the globe, and collaboratively work together to effect just change in our relationships, communities, and societies at a global scale. We create opportunities for peace leaders and scholars from all sectors, geographies, and backgrounds to come together for mutual learning, collaboration, and support.
