Peace Education
Issue 02 | June 2025
In a global climate of extreme turbulence, peace education is a practice of hope and innovation. In the face of profound adversity, oppression, silencing, and war, peace education is a practice of resistance, of courage, of imagination, of perseverance, of interconnection, and of transformation.
In this issue of Peace Prospects, we explore what it means to educate for peace and to collectively meet this moment, at a global scale. We define peace education in a broad sense, encompassing both formal and informal learning programs, and focusing on learners of all ages—adults, youth, and children. We highlight the work of leaders, organizations, and scholars who are spearheading educational initiatives specifically focused on peace leadership.
