Dr. Izzeddin Hawamda was born and raised in the West Bank, Palestine. He is the Founder of SADAA-Echoes Consulting, a storytelling and dialogue initiative dedicated to creating spaces where people can connect, share stories, and foster empathy through meaningful conversations.

Izzeddin has completed his PhD in Peace and Conflict Studies at the University of Manitoba. He currently serves as the Anti-Racist Education Professional Learning Initiative Coordinator with school divisions in Winnipeg, supporting educators and communities in exploring anti-racism, dialogue, and inclusive learning practices.

Through SADAA-Echoes Consulting, Izzeddin uses storytelling as a tool for connection, humanization, and community building. His work centers on the power of stories to preserve memory, honour lived experiences, and create opportunities for deeper understanding across communities.

Izzeddin has been actively speaking about the importance of dialogue, listening, and respecting diverse perspectives and narratives. He shares stories of Palestine publicly, using storytelling to highlight the human experiences, cultural memories, and intergenerational knowledge that shape communities.

Through the creation of the “Unbounded Stories” series, a project of SADAA-Echoes Consulting, Izzeddin aims to connect audiences with stories that explore identity, belonging, resilience, and the shared experiences that bring people together.

Izzeddin has been awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal in recognition of his contributions to promoting dialogue and community building. He is dedicated to creating opportunities for different communities to share spaces and stories, fostering connections and breaking down barriers.

Additionally, Izzeddin serves as a member of the CRRIC Board and the Countering Radicalization to Violence in Manitoba Schools initiative. He was selected to join the inaugural CBC Manitoba Community Advisory Board. He is a Faculty Fellow at Canadian Mennonite University and teaches Indigenous Languages: Culture, Rights and Conflict at the Global College, University of Winnipeg.

Through SADAA-Echoes Consulting, Izzeddin continues to advance the belief that stories have the power to create spaces for humanization, healing, dialogue, and empathy.
